"The Bahamas was a fantastic experience for me, Competing against such a high level of athletes was phenomenal and completely different to what I was expecting. Everybody was made to feel welcome by other athletes, officials and members of the public, I made some friends for life. The opening ceremony was very well organised with refreshments and essentials and the performances were outstanding. Walking around the race track with the Isle of Man team was a dream come true for me and I felt very proud to represent the Island. Throughout the games I made unforgettable memories with teammates and fellow opponents. The accommodation was perfect with food all day long, comfortable beds and top of the range facilities, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Travelling from hotel to the swimming pool was stress free as there was shuttle buses all the time going to and from the stadiums to all hotels. This experience of my first games was truly amazing, I felt welcome, at home and comfortable and that made me feel happy and excited to swim. The event was well organised and everything ran smoothly, the officials were friendly and approachable and many other competitors were too. IT was the most unbelievable experience of my life."
