Monday 7th Sept Day one sport. Isle of Man Team
Josh Hewett had his high jump final earlier and cleared 1.93, apparently he just clipped 1.99. I don't know his final position yet unfortunately he was outside the medals.
Catherine Reid ran her heat of the 400m and has qualified for the final. Catherine seemed very comfortable in her heat. She has been seeing the England physio who has been very helpful.
Mathew Rennie was fortunate in getting a bye through to the quarter final of the 64Kg class. Mathew and coach John Cain went to watch the bout that would decide who he boxes tomorrow but a no show by one of the boxers meant that he now knows he will box against the Samoa fighter Ropati Potoa HALL. A win for Mathew guarantee's a medal. The fight takes place 5am (our time) tomorrow.
Alex Bregazzi, Brody Hewison and Niamh Robinson all qualified for the' B 'finals of the 50m butterfly. Niamh missed out on the Medal final by only 0.. Brody was 3rd in his 'B' final(11th overall), Alex was 6th (14h overall) and Niamh was 2nd in her 'B' final (10th overall). They also swam the 200m mixed relay along with a girl from Gibraltar. They swam the 8th fastest time but are not in the finals as teams made up of swimmers from 1 country take priority.
All the athletes will be in action again today including Charlotte Harris in the Archery.
