Four of the Isle of Man's most promising sporting competitors are to benefit from support leading up to the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi from local bank Britannia International.

The four athletes making up the Britannia International Delhi 2010 Squad are Mark Christian, Tim Kennaugh (Cycling) and Olivia Rawlinson and Grant Halsall (Swimming). Mark Beresford, Managing Director of Britannia International, said, "Each has gone through a selection process and has been chosen because of their potential and desire to achieve in their aim to represent the Isle of Man in the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games."

The extra sponsorship will aid the athletes in travelling on and off Island when training and competing in the UK and further afield.

Mark Beresford added. "This is part of Britannia International's continuing commitment to local sporting success on the Isle of Man. Previously we have supported other young athletes including Mark Cavendish with their training and development programmes and the extra demands of competing off-Island. I hope all the athletes will go on to achieve the levels of success and sporting excellence that Mark has achieved and I hope they go on to fulfil their sporting dreams."

President of the Commonwealth Games Association, Juliet Holt commented further. "The Commonwealth Games Association would like to thank and commend Britannia International for it's continued and valuable support of the Island's athletes. We are sure this recognition and encouragement will make a big difference to the four young athletes in their preparations for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi 2010."
